失ったつもりなどない

ushinatta tsumori nado nai

I didn't think I'd lost

幼い日の大事なもの

osanai hi no daiji na mono

what was important to me in my childhood days

気がつけばどこかに落としていた

ki ga tsukeba dokoka ni otoshite ita

They fell by the wayside somewhere before I noticed

バス停から家まで歩く時間も

basutei kara ie made aruku jikan mo

Before I noticed it takes me half the time

気がつけば半分くらいになってた

ki ga tsukeba hanbun kurai ni natte'ta

to walk home from the bus stop

思い出を掬う手に

omoide o sukuu te ni

In the handful of memories I scoop up

何かを忘れた気がしていた

nanika o wasureta ki ga shite ita

I had the sense that I'd forgotten something,

あの頃の一滴

ano koro no hitoshizuku

a droplet from back then

確かに全ては息をしてた

tashika ni subete wa iki o shite'ta

Certainly all of them were breathing

空を見下ろし海を見上げようなんて

sora o mioroshi umi o miageyō nante

To look down on the sky and look up to the sea

いつから僕らはこんなわがままになったんだ

itsu kara bokura wa konna wagamama ni natta n da

since when had we gotten this selfish?

誰かがくれた「当たり前」にしがみついて

dareka ga kureta "atarimae" ni shigamitsuite

Clinging onto the "obvious" that someone gave us,

このまま僕らは進んでいけるのかな

kono mama bokura wa susunde ikeru no ka na

can we really keep going like this?

もたらされたいくつかの自由が

motarasareta ikutsuka no jiyū ga

It seems like several freedoms brought to us

あの夜を変えていったらしいな

ano yoru o kaete itta rashii na

were transforming that night

パッと光った星たちはまるで急ぐ様に

patto hikatta hoshitachi wa marude isogu yō ni

Stars that flashed their light revolved

地平線の彼方かなたに回って落ちた

chiheisen no kanata ni mawatte ochita

as if in a hurry to sink beyond the horizon

思い出に刻まれた

omoide ni kizamareta

Wanting to forget something

何かを忘れてしまいたくて

nanika o wasurete shimaitakute

that had been carved into my memory

もう一度考える

mō ichido kangaeru

once more I'll think

今僕にできるただ1つを

ima boku ni dekiru tada hitotsu o

of the sole thing I can do right now

時に争い醜く僻み合ったって

tokini arasoi minikuku higamiattatte

Even if we sometimes squabbled disgracefully and felt hard done by each other,

いつかは僕らが胸を張れる日が来るさ

itsuka wa bokura ga mune o hareru hi ga kuru sa

the day will come when we can hold our heads high

だけどその日が明日か100年先か

dakedo sono hi ga ashita ka hyakunen saki ka

When, however, we don't know whether that day will be

知らない僕らはただ歩くしかないから

shiranai bokura wa tada aruku shika nai kara

tomorrow or a hundred years hence, all we can do is just walk on

As for the hand that scoops up memories,

it doesn't meant that something's forgotten

これまでもこれからも

kore made mo kore kara mo

Until this moment and from this moment

確かに僕らは息をしてる

tashika ni bokura wa iki o shite'ru

we're certainly breathing

空を見下ろし海を見上げる日が来ても

sora o mioroshi umi o miageru hi ga kite mo

Even though the day came when we looked down on the sky and up at the sea,

大事なことは何も変わってなかった

daiji na koto wa nani mo kawatte'nakatta

nothing important had changed

あの日重ねた過去と今と未来は

ano hi kasaneta kako to ima to mirai wa

The past, present and future that united that day

ただ僕らをそっと見守ってたんだ

tada bokura o sotto mimamotte'ta n da

were just quietly watching over us
