青空 ♥ Aozora ♥ Blue Sky

夏草茂る小道　

Natsukusa shigeru komichi

A path overgrown with summer grass,

小石蹴り歩く

koishi keri aruku

we walk along kicking the pebbles.

夕焼けチャイムと笑い声

Yūyake chaimu to waraigoe

At sunset, the school chime and voices laughing,

いつも通った道

itsumo kayotta michi

the road we always took.

並んだ子供の影　

Naranda kodomo no kage

A row of children’s shadows

西日で輝く

nishibi de kagayaku

glow in the westering sun.

自転車で駆け抜けた道は

Jitensha de kakenuketa michi wa

The road we raced along on our bikes

どこまでも続いた

dokomademo tsuzuita

went on forever.

幼い頃に出会った

Osanai koro ni deatta

How many wondrous things

不思議な事の数々

fushigi na koto no kazukazu

I encountered when I was young,

床屋のアレ　ずっと見てた

tokoya no are zutto mite'ta

that thing at the barber’s I kept staring at,

ラムネ瓶の中　ビー玉

ramunebin no naka bīdama

the marble inside the Lamune bottle.

何かを知り

Nanika o shiri

Discovering one thing,

何かを失い

nanika o ushinai

losing something else,

前に進んできた

mae ni susunde kita

we forged ahead.

初めての道に　夢見て　夢見て

Hajimete no michi ni yumemite yumemite

Little children dreaming our dreams on the first road of our lives

息切らせ走る　小さな僕達

iki kirase hashiru chiisana bokutachi

we ran until we were out of breath.

あの坂の向こう　踏み出せばきっと

Ano saka no mukō fumidaseba kitto

If we stepped over that hill, surely

新しい世界が　僕らを待ってる

atarashii sekai ga bokura o matte'ru

a new world would be waiting for us.

放課後　いつもの場所

Hōkago itsumo no basho

After school at our usual spot

おやつを片手に

oyatsu o katate ni

holding a snack in one hand,

秘密基地で夢を語った

himitsu kichi de yume o katatta

we told our dreams at our secret base,

もう届かない場所

mō todokanai basho

a place that’s now out of reach.

幼い頃の僕なら

When we were young,

疑う事も無かった

I never doubted anything,

ミミズ文字の宝の地図

neither the treasure map written in squiggles

机の中　タイムマシーン

giving up something else,

前に進んできた

遠ざかる雲を　見上げて　見上げて

Tōzakaru kumo o miagete miagete

Little children looking up at the clouds that move further away

息切らせ走る　小さな僕達

iki kirase hashiru chiisana bokutachi

we ran until we were out of breath.

離れていくほど　輝いて見えた

Hanarete iku hodo kagayaite mieta

The further away it was, the more it appeared to shine,

皆で並んで　目指した青空

minna de narande mezashita aozora

the blue sky we were aiming for together.
