朝、僕の弟は

In the morning, my younger brother

くるくるくるみの虫さんだ

kurukurukuru minomushi-san da

looks like a wriggling basket worm.

なかなか布団から　出てこない

nakanaka futon kara dete konai

He doesn't get out of bed easily.

昼になって弟は怖い　怖い･･･トラになる

hiru ni natte otōto wa kowai kowai … tora ni naru

In the daytime, my younger brother becomes a scary, scary tiger.

気に入らないと　牙をむく

ki ni iranai to kiba o muku

He gets angry when he doesn't like something.

夕方僕の弟は　糸の切れた風船だ

yūgata boku no otōto wa ito no kireta fūsen da

In the evening, my younger brother is a balloon cut from its string.

５時を過ぎているのに　帰らない

goji o sugite iru no ni kaeranai

He doesn't come back even after it's 5 p.m.

夜眠ると弟は冬眠している亀さんだ

yoru nemuru to otōto wa tōmin shite iru kame-san da

When sleeping at night, my younger brother is a hibernating turtle.

でも寝言で怒ってる

demo negoto de okotte'ru

However, he talks angrily in his sleep.
