ふらり立ち寄った町　物静か

He showed up at a town where all was still.

あたり見わたす限り　子の群れ流行りモノ

Atari miwatasu kagiri hayarimono

As far as the eye could see were plaguing swarms.

「奴等は今尚　増え続け

"Yatsura wa imanao fuetsuzuke

"These things are even now on the increase.

この町の未来さきは滅びのみ」

kono machi no saki wa horobi nomi"

The only future for this town is utter ruin."

舞い踊れ！この笛に合わせ　

Maiodore! kono fue ni awase

Dance to the flute,

全てのモノよ

subete no mono yo

all of you!

その生命いのち惜しいと言うなら　

Sono inochi oshii to iu nara

If you tell me to spare their lives

抗いなど許しはしない

aragai nado yurushi wa shinai

町人は家の中姿消し　物静か

Machibito wa sugata keshi monoshizuka

The townsfolk vanished into their homes and all was still.

笛吹きの少年は　笑み浮かべ

Fuefuki no shōnen wa emi ukabe

The piper boy flashed a smile.

「本当に彼に出来るのか？　

"Hontō ni kare ni dekiru no ka?

"Can he really do it?

もし、出来たのならその時さ･･･」

Moshi, dekita no nara sono toki sa …"

If he can, then we'll see …"

踊り狂え！笛の音　合わせ　

Odorikurue! fue no ne awase

Dance in a frenzy, all of you,

to the sound of the flute!

その生命いのちが惜しいとしても

Fuefuki no shōnen o kakomu

Hundreds of swarms

幾百の群れ

ikuhyaku no mure

surrounded the piper boy.

谷底奈落へと全て消えてゆく　

Naraku e to subete kiete yuku

They all vanished, going to the very bottom of the valley.

「それでは仕事料御代を下さいな」

"Soredewa odai o kudasai na"

"So then, my payment please."

「そんな話　聞いてない

"Sonna hanashi kiite'nai

"We won't listen to that kind of talk.

この町からもう出て行けよ！」

Kono machi kara mō dete ike yo!"

響き渡る笛の音　合わせ　

Hibikiwataru fue no ne awase

Children, all of you,

全ての童達子らよ

subete no kora yo

march to the echoing sound of the flute.

恨むのなら裏切り者を　

Uramu no nara uragirimono o

If you resent me, you wicked people,

罪人など許しはしない

tsumibito nado yurushi wa shinai

I do not forgive traitors.

白いリボン髪飾りの少女が先頭はじめ　

Kamikazari no shōjo ga hajime

A girl with a white ribbon decorating her hair took the lead,

虚ろな瞳

utsuro na hitomi

her eyes blank.

動けぬ町人に別れをさよなら　

Ugokenu machibito ni sayonara

They bid farewell to the immobile townsfolk

少年と共に消えてゆく

shōnen to tomo ni kiete yuku

and vanished along with the boy.

白いリボン髪飾りの少女の肩に

Kamikazari no shōjo no kata ni

On the shoulder of the girl with the ribbon

一つの式神流行りモノ在り

hayarimono ari

lay one of the vermin, a sorcerer's familiar.

御代巾着を鳴らし振り返る　

kinchaku o narashi furikaeru

Turning around, his money bag jingling,

笑顔見せる笛吹き少年

Egao miseru fuefuki shōnen

the piper boy showed a smile.
