群青の街に育った僕

gunjō no machi ni sodatta boku

Having grown up in this ultramarine town,

ぼんやりと街を見下ろす

bon'yari to machi o miorosu

I gaze down idly at the town,

哀情の雲に覆われた

aijō no kumo ni ōwareta

this town covered in melancholy clouds

星空のないこの街を

hoshizora no nai kono machi o

with no blue sky.

青空に並ぶ工場こうじょう

aozora ni narabu kōjō

Factories lined up against the sky,

歯車を運ぶ鉄道

haguruma o hakobu tetsudō

gear-laden railroads,

またひとり　黒いビルの波に飲まれる

mata hitori kuroi biru no nami ni nomareru

and one person swallowed by waves of black buildings.

黄昏たそがれに染まるシーソー

tasogare ni somaru shīsō

A see-saw bathed in dusk,

夕闇に揺れるブランコ

yūyami ni yureru buranko

a swing swinging in the twilight,

またひとつ　夢を見てた明日あすを失う

mata hitotsu yume o mite'ta asu o ushinau

and one more tomorrow I had dreamed of, all lost.

いつか見てた景色は

itsuka mite'ta keshiki wa

The scenes I would once look at

いつの間にか消え去り

itsu no ma ni ka kiesari

vanished before I knew it,

いつか聴いた風さえ

itsuka kiita kaze sae

the wind I would once hear

いつの間にか忘れる

I forget before I even realize.

群青の街に迷った君

草原駆けたあの日々を

寂しく佇たたずむ街灯

The desolate street lights standing there,

諦めを誘う屋上

akirame o sasou okujō

the rooftops calling us to give up,

またひとつ　輝いてた星が消えてく,

and one star that used to shine vanishes away.

Let's hunt for four-leaf clovers

四つ葉のクローバーを探そう

yotsuba no kurōbā o sagasō

in an undiscovered meadow.
