ある日路地裏出会った2人

One day the pair met each other in an alley.

少年はくすんだ目で睨にらんだ

The boy glared at her with sombre eyes.

"I bet you don't know my suffering."

それでも少女は手を差しのべる

Nevertheless, the girl reached out her hand.

"If we make your black flames

果てしなく続く夜空としたら

hateshinaku tsuzuku yozora to shitara

The two slipped away from town

足取り軽く跳ねて旅を行く

and, their steps lightly bouncing, went on a journey.

The divine girl who breathed white flame

いつしかその目は霞んでいた

soon found her eyesight blurring.

それでも2人で行く旅路は

Nevertheless in their journey together

世界の誰よりも幸せだった

sekai no dare yori mo shiawase datta

they were the happiest of all.

ある日読んだ本にあった

aru hi yonda hon ni atta

One day she found out in a book,

「黒い炎は不死の証」

"kuroi honoo wa fushi no akashi"

"Black flames are a sign of immortality."

老いていく体を彼女は嘆く

She grieved her aging body.

それでも彼は手を握りしめる
