盲目の少女　誰とも遊べず

A blind girl had no one to play with

孤独を持て余していた

and was overwhelmed with loneliness.

幽霊の少年　誰の目にも見えず

Yūrei no shōnen dare no me ni mo miezu

A ghost boy could be seen by no one

静寂を持て余していた

seijaku o moteamashite ita

and was overwhelmed with silence.

森の中　二人は出会う

Mori no naka futari wa deau

The pair meet in a forest.

「私と遊んでくれませんか？」

"Watashi to asonde kuremasen ka?"

"Won't you play with me?" asked the girl.

「僕の姿が見えるのかい？」

"Boku no sugata ga mieru no kai?"

"You can see me?" asked the boy.

始まる二人の物語

Hajimaru futari no monogatari

Their story begins.

Jikan mo wasurete

Forgetting all about the time,

見えない光の中踊る二人

mienai hikari no naka odoru futari

the pair dance in unseen light.

その輝きと少年の姿は

Sono kagayaki to shōnen no sugata wa

By magic, its brilliance and the boy's form

少女の目にだけ映る魔法

shōjo no me ni dake utsuru mahō

could only be detected by the girl's eyes.

二人は毎日のように遊んだ

Futari wa mainichi no yō ni asonda

The pair played almost every day.

孤独はいつしか消えていた

Kodoku wa itsu shika kiete ita

Their loneliness faded before she knew it.

「この目が見えたら　世界中を旅したい」

"Kono me ga mietara sekaijū o tabi shitai"

"If my eyes could see, I'd like to travel the world."

少女のため息零れた

Shōjo no tameiki koboreta

A sigh escaped from the girl.

「君の目に見える世界が

"Kimi no me ni mieru sekai ga

"Supposing there were a world your eyes

あるとしたら、行ってみたい？」

aru to shitara, itte mitai?"

could see, would you go there?"

少女は目を輝かせて

Shōjo wa me o kagayakasete

The girl's eyes glistened

頷いて少年の手を取る

unazuite shōnen no te o toru

and, with a nod, took the boy's hand.

少年は少女の魂を奪う

Shōnen wa shōjo no tamashii o ubau

The boy robbed the girl of her soul.

眠りにつく少女　再び目を覚ました時

Nemuri ni tsuku shōjo futatabi me o samashita toki

Falling asleep, when the girl again opened her eyes,

広がった景色は　まさに”別世界”

hirogatta keshiki wa masani "betsusekai"

the unfolding scene was truly "another world".

二人は手を取り合う

Futari wa te o toriau

They took each other's hand.
