風見鶏がふらり　

kazamidori ga furari

The weather vane slowly swerved,

向かう先を戸惑った

mukau saki o tomadotta

uncertain which way to point.

浅黄色の風が　

asagiiro no kaze ga

A pale yellow wind

涙さらい　すり抜けた

namida sarai surinuketa

passed through, taking away my tears.

雨上がりの街に　

ameagari no machi ni

In the town after the rain,

君の声が鳴り響く

kimi no koe ga narihibiku

your voice reverberates.

暮れる空と混じり　

kureru sora to majiri

Mixing into evening sky,

奇麗な　虹を描き出す

kirei na niji o egakidasu

it paints a pretty rainbow.

空高く手を伸ばし　

soratakaku te o nobashi

I reached my hand high into the sky

あの色を掴もうとしてみた

ano iro o tsukamō to shite mita

and tried to grab hold of its colours.

だけど　空は遠すぎて　

dakedo sora wa tōsugite

The sky, however, was too far away,

背伸びしたって届かない

senobi shitatte todokanai

so even if I stretched, I couldn't reach it.

「何も要らない」なんて　強がっては

"nani mo iranai" nante tsuyogatte wa

When I pretended, "I need nothing,"

息も出来なくなる程　走って　

iki mo dekinaku naru hodo hashitte

I tried running ahead

前に進んでみたけど

mae ni susunde mita kedo

until I could no longer breathe,

ああ　僕はなんて無力だろう

ā boku wa nante muryuoku darō

but, ah, how powerless I am.

滲む空に　足を止めた

nijimu sora ni ashi o tometa

I stopped running under the bleeding colours of the sky.

色褪せた思い出も　

iroaseta omoide mo

Fading memories,

忘れかけた温もりも

wasurekaketa nukumori mo

half-forgotten warmth,

そのすべてが　

sono subete ga

they all become

明日を形作る色となる

asu o katachizukuru iro to naru

colours that give shape to tomorrow.

空高く手を伸ばし　

soratakaku te o nobashi

I reached my hand high into the sky

何かを掴もうとしてみた

nanika o tsukamō to shite mita

and tried to grab hold of something.

虹は未だ遠いけど　

niji wa imada tōi kedo

The rainbow was too far away,

それで良いと思えたよ

sore de ii to omoeta yo

but I could accept that.

イロトリドリの日々も　

irotoridori no hibi mo

Multicoloured days,

イロトリドリの景色も

irotoridori no keshiki mo

multicoloured scenes,

すべて　未知の先を紡ぎ出す

subete michi no saki o tsumugidasu

they all spin together an unknown future.

そう　僕は何色にでも成れる

sō boku wa naniiro ni demo nareru

That's right, I can take on any colour.

月灯りの下で　

tsukiakari no shita de

Under the moonlight,

独り言を呟いた

hitorigoto o tsubuyaita

I muttered to myself.

安らぐ口元は　

yasuragu kuchimoto wa

Feeling at ease, my mouth

なぜか少し綻んだ

nazeka sukoshi hokoronda

for some reason broke into a light smile.
