見上げた空　高く広がってく

Miageta sora takaku hirogatte'ku

The sky I see above opens up high and wide,

色とりどりの虹色の世界

irotoridori no nijiiro no sekai

a multicoloured rainbow world.

雨降り　いつもと変わらない

amefuri itsumo to kawaranai

It's raining, and in the town that's ever the same,

街中　カラフルな傘模様

machinaka karafuru na kasa moyō

umbrellas make a colourful pattern.

泣き虫　少年のそばには

nakimushi shōnen no soba ni wa

Next to the crybaby boy

大きな傘が優しく包む

ōkina kasa ga yasashiku tsutsumu

a huge umbrella gently wraps him.

今日も1人で

kyō mo hitori de

When he was alone today again

大好きな音楽鳴らしては

suki na ongaku narashite wa

playing his favourite music,

みんな笑顔で笑い合えるような

minna egao de waraiaeru yō na

he had a dream about everyone

そんな夢を見ていた

sonna yume o mite ita

able to smile and laugh with each other.

僕はいつかきっと出会えると信じた

boku wa itsuka kitto deaeru to shinjita

"I'll surely meet them one day," he believed,

広げた傘の向こう側に

hirogeta kasa no mukōgawa ni

"on the other side of my opened umbrella."

晴れ渡る空が見えたから大丈夫

harewataru sora ga mieta kara daijōbu

He could see the sky clearing, so it would be all right.

きっと上手くいくから

kitto umaku iku kara

Surely it will go well.

たった1つの勇気手にして

tatta hitotsu no yūki te ni shite

So hanging onto just one bit of courage

信じた道へ歩き出そう

shinjita michi e arukidasō

he takes a step on the road he trusts.

くじけそうになる時も怖くないから

kujikesō ni naru toki mo kowaku nai kara

He doesn't fear times when he might lose heart,

光の射す方へ

Blending into the sound of the unceasing rain

the melody that flows for the first time

魔法みたい　体を駆けめぐる　

mahō mitai karada o kakemeguru

is like magic and races around him.

夢中でただ追いかけていた

muchū de tada oikakete ita

Like in a trance, all he did was follow it.

When he opens the umbrella

虹色の世界が見える傘

nijiiro no sekai ga mieru kasa

it reveals a rainbow world.

みんな集まり　心躍るような

minna atsumari kokoro odoru yō na

"I'll try playing a sound

音を奏でてみよう

oto o kanadete miyō

where everyone gathers and is thrilled."

僕はいつかきっと出会えると信じた

boku wa itsuka kitto deaeru to shinjita

"I'll surely meet them one day," he believed.

1人1人繋つながってるから

hitori hitori tsunagatte'ru kara

"Everyone's connected one to the other,

それぞれの想い込めて作ってこうよ

sorezore no omoi komete tsukutte'kō yo

so I'll create them bearing each person's wishes."

夢は広がっていく
