水溜り越しの青空

傘の中で淀むため息を

kasa no naka de yodomu tameiki o

With a sigh trapped under my umbrella

雲の切れ間に照らされて

kumo no kirema ni terasarete

lit by a gap in the clouds

夢を辿たどる孤独の街角

yume o tadoru kodoku no machikado

I follow my dreams at a lonely street corner.

「まだ止まないでよ」なんて

"mada yamanaide yo" nante

"Don't stop yet," what a thing to say.

あの頃　遊んだ水溜り

ano koro asonda mizutamari

The puddles we used to play in back then

青い空　しぶきになって足に染み込んだ

aoi sora shibuki ni natte ashi ni shimikonda

splashed into the blue sky and soaked our feet.

同じ空は心の中にある

onaji sora wa kokoro no naka ni aru

The same sky dwells in my heart

どれだけ離れてても

doredake hanarete'te mo

however far apart we are.

この足で歩いていけるさ

kono ashi de aruite ikeru sa

Filled with courage,

勇気を湛えて

yūki o tataete

I can move with my own feet.

雨に濡れた冷たい街

ame ni nureta tsumetai machi

Wet with rain, the town was cold.

俯うつむくときでも

utsumuku toki demo

Even when you're down,

水溜りひとつからほら

mizutamari hitotsu kara hora

see how one puddle of water

こんなに煌めくから

konna ni kirameku kara

sparkles so much?

翼の無い僕らは歩く

tsubasa no nai bokura wa aruku

That's why, though lacking wings, we walk

その空に届くまで

sono sora ni todoku made

until we reach that sky.

足元に小さく映れば

ashimoto ni chiisaku utsureba

As long as it's reflected at our feet, even weakly,

見失わないよ

miushinawanai yo

we won't lose sight of it.

Blue Sky in a Puddle

My umbrella traps every sigh which turns to steam

while the sun peeps through a gap in between the clouds

On a lonely street I try following my dream

"Don't stop yet" How can I say that out loud?

When we were young we played in puddles after the rain

Our feet got soaking wet

but we splashed the water high into the big blue sky

It's the same blue sky that dwells in my heart right here

even if you're so far we can't meet

Filled with this courage I can move on without fear

I can take steps with my own feet

After the rain the town is wet, you feel its chill

But even when you're feeling low,

a rainy puddle, see, it works its magic still

See how it sparkles with a sunny glow

That's why, without wings, we walk the rainy street

until we reach it, that blue sky we know

If it reflects its light softly at our feet

we won't lose sight of where to go
