sekai de ichiban no aoi

The world's most beautiful

美しい羽持つ　鳥を

utsukushii hane motsu tori o

blue-plumed bird

籠の中に入れて　ずっと　　

kago no naka ni irete zutto

we'll place in a cage

壊れるまで愛でよう

kowareru made medeyō

and cherish it there until it breaks.

壊れてしまった鳥の骸

kowarete shimatta tori no mukuro

The broken bird's remains

土に埋めて　さようなら

tsuchi ni umete sayōnara

we'll bury in the earth and bid farewell.

残った羽だけは小さな

nokotta hane dake wa chiisana

Only the remaining feather

宝箱の中へ

takarabako no nake e

we'll put in a small treasure box.

The world's

綺麗なものを

kirei na mono o

prettiest things

仕舞い込めた宝箱の中

shimaikomete takarabako no naka

we stored in our treasure box,

醜いものなど

minikui mono nado

in which we had no use

僕らには要らないの

bokura ni wa iranai no

for anything unsightly.

無邪気に笑って

mujaki ni waratte

We laugh innocently

綺麗な鳥も

kirei na tori mo

and grip the pretty bird

握りしめて壊してしまうの

nigirishimete kowashite shimau no

so tightly that it breaks.

僕らはまるで

bokura wa marude

It's like we're

残酷な無垢の花

zankoku na muku no hana

a cruel innocent flower.

世界で一番の　白い

sekai de ichiban no shiroi

The white flower with

甘美なる香りの　花を

kanbi naru kaori no hana o

the sweetest fragrance in the world

花瓶に摘み入れて　いつか

kabin ni tsumi irete itsuka

we pick, put in a vase

飽きるまで愛でよう

akiru made medeyō

and cherish it until we tire of it someday.

飽きる前に枯れた花は

akiru mae ni kareta hana wa

Before we grow tired of it, we'll throw away

空に捨てて　忘れましょう

sora ni sutete wasuremashō

the withered flower into the sky and forget about it,

僕らの人生には一点の

bokura no jinsei ni wa itten no

because in our life there isn't

曇りもないのだから

kumori mo nai no da kara

even a speck of a cloudy day.

降り積もり続ける嫌悪の澱

furitsumoritsuzukeru ken'o no ori

we tightly grip in our palms.

いつの間にか

itsunomanika

But before we know it

醜く汚れているの

minikuku kegarete iru no

they are unsightly and dirty.

無邪気に笑えず

mujaki ni waraezu

Unable to laugh innocently

宝箱も

takarabako mo

will we someday

いつかなくしてしまうのだろうか

itsuka nakushite shimau no darō ka

even lose our treasure box,

羽も　花も

hane mo hana mo

the feather and flower

今はまだ大切な
