『昔むかし、あるところに、ちいさなお姫さまがいました。

"Mukashimukashi, aru tokoro ni, chiisana ohimesama ga imashita.

Once upon a time, in a certain place, lived a little princess.

　お姫さまはタピオカが大好物で、それはもう毎日毎日おなかいっぱい食べて暮らしましたとさ。

Ohimesama wa tapioka ga daikōbutsu de, sore wa mō mainichi mainichi onaka ippai tabete kurashimashita to sa.

They say that tapioca was the princess's favourite food, and she spent day after day eating her fill.

　めでたしめでたし。

Medetashi medetashi.

And she lived happily ever after.

　そんなわけはない！　さっそくだけど、この物語はここから悲劇の展開に突入する！

Sonna wake wa nai! Sassoku dakedo, kono monogatari wa koko kara higeki no tenkai ni totsunyū suru!

Of course not! It's sudden, but at this point, the story quickly unfolds into a tragedy!

　ある日、姫様がタピオカとやらを食べている間に突然倒れてしまったもんだから国中が大騒ぎ！

Aru hi, himesama ga tapioka toyara o tabete iru aida ni totsuzen taorete shimatta mon dakara kunijū ga ōsawagi!

One day, while eating tapioca or something, the princess suddenly fell down, so there was tumult across the whole country!

　原因？　知らないよそんなの、それを探るのがお医者さまの役目ってものさ！

Gen'in? Shiranai yo sonna no, sore o saguru no ga oisha-sama no yakume tte mono sa!

The cause? I wouldn't know—that's something you need a doctor to figure out!

　さぁさぁ、物語のはじまりです。
