heijitsu hiruma no densha ni

I took a weekday daytime train

始発駅から乗ってみた

from the first stop.

隣に誰が座ろうと

座るまいと気にしない

sit next to me.

ゲームに没頭してたり

ヘッドフォンから音漏れしたり

sound leaking from headphones,

果てに携帯片手に

hate ni keitai katate ni

with a phone in one hand, bowing

大声でお辞儀しながら話したり

while talking at the top of their voice …

そんな人達を載せた

sonna hitotachi o noseta

From a train carrying people like that

電車の窓の外は

densha no mado no soto wa

outside the window

快晴で行き先も決めずに

kaisei de ikisaki mo kimezu ni

the weather was good; I boarded

乗り込んでみたけれど

without any destination in mind,

あてのない旅なんて

ate no nai tabi nante

but a journey without aim

昔見た映画みたい

mukashi mita eiga mitai

was like a movie I watched a long time ago,

結末は忘れちゃったけど

although I'd forgotten the ending.

知らない街まで行ってみようかな

Should I go to a town I've never been to?

知ってる駅で降りちゃおうかな

このまま僕が消えてしまっても

とりあえず海辺の駅で

男ってそんな甲斐性

but guys unexpectedly lack

案外ないものだね

that kind of resourcefulness,

誰にも言えずためこんで

bottling it all in.

気持ち切り替えられないけれど

kimochi kirikaerarenai keredo

I can't change my feelings,

消えてしまう勇気なんてないし

but I don't have the courage to disappear.

悲しい気分に浸ってるのも

kanashii kibun ni hitatte'ru no mo

明日からちゃんと仕事行くよ
