The lingering scent of summer

残った夏の匂いが滲む

nokotta natsu no nioi ga nijimu

blends into chilly autumn rain, fading away.

染み込んだ　楓の葉の香りは

Shimikonda kaede no ha no kaori wa

The scent of maple leaves has seeped into it,

夏の終わりを　僕に報せる

natsu no owari o boku ni shiraseru

which tells me of the end of summer.

零れ落ちた　秋時雨一つ

Koboreochita akishigure hitotsu

O falling autumn shower,

僕のこの空しさを

boku no kono munashisa o

please won't you erase

どうか消してくれはないか

dōka keshite wa kurenai ka

my emptiness?

また夜は明けてゆく
