小さな子供が駆けてく

笑い声が木霊する

waraigoe ga kodama suru

Laughter echoes

それを誰かが見守る　

sore o dareka ga mimamoru

Someone is watching over them

そんな見慣れた風景

sonna minareta fūkei

That's what I was used to seeing

温もりを忘れたとき　

nukumori o wasureta toki

When warmth's been forgotten

寄る辺を失くしたとき

yorube o nakushita toki

when there's no one left to depend on

思い出を数えてみる　

omoide o kazoete miru

I try counting my memories

どれだけの優しさを見つけた？

dore dake no yasashisa o mitsuketa?

How much kindness did I find?

それに気づけたか

sore ni kizuketa ka

The big trees were cut down

大きな建物が増えた

ōkina tatemono ga fueta

Big buildings are everywhere

みんなは便利さを求め　

minna wa benrisa o motome

Everyone sought convenience

町の賑やかさも増え続けた

machi no nigiyakasa mo fuetsuzuketa

and kept making the town busier

それを見ていた

That's what I've seen

思えばこの町も

When I think about it,

いつしか姿を変えてた

this town has changed too
