2007年11月、「初音ミク」に続く

Nisensichinen jūichigatsu, "Hatsune Miku" ni tsuzuku

On November 2007, following "Hatsune Miku",

キャラクター・ボーカル・シリーズ第二弾として

kyarakutā bōkaru shirīzu dainidan to shite

as a second instalment of the character vocals series,

「鏡音リン」の存在が明らかされました。

"Kagamine Rin" no sonzai ga akiraka saremashita.

the existence of "Kagamine Rin" was revealed.

そしてその後、女性ボイスの「鏡音リン」だけでなく、

Soshite sono go, josei boisu no "Kagamine Rin" dake de naku,

Afterwards, it came to light that not only the female voice "Kagamine Rin"

男性ボイスの「鏡音レン」も同梱され、

dansei boisu no "Kagamine Ren" mo dōkon sare,

but the male voice "Kagamine Len" would also be included

「鏡音リン・レン」として発売されることが明らかになります。

"Kagamine Rin/Len" to shite hatsubai sareru koto ga akiraka ni narimasu.

and sold as "Kagamine Rin and Len".

これが、2007年12月3日のことでした。

Kore ga, nisensichinen jūnigatsu mikka no koto deshita.

This happened on 3rd December 2007.

一説には、第一弾の「初音ミク」が想定を超えてヒットしたことから

Issetsu ni wa, daiichidan no "Hatsune Miku" ga sōtei o koete hitto shita koto kara

According to one theory, it is said that the first instalment comprising "Hatsune Miku" had become a hit beyond initial expectation,

ライブラリを追加できる余裕ができたと言われています。

raiburari o tsuika dekiru yoyū ga dekita to iwarete imasu.

and so there was leeway to add to the library.

そんな、いろいろな運命の巡り合わせで誕生したのが

By various such turns of fate, what came to be created

「鏡音リン・レン」という存在なのです。

"Kagamine Rin/Len" to iu sonzai no desu.

was what we know as "Kagamine Rin and Len".

「鏡音リン・レン」は、その後も唯一無二の存在として

"Kagamine Rin/Len" wa, sono go mo yuiitsumuni no sonzai to shite

After that, "Kagamine Rin and Len" continued to be loved as a unique entity

ボカロPや絵師などのクリエイター・ファンに愛され続け

bokaro-pī ya eshi nado no kurieitā/fan ni aisaretsuzuke

by creators and fans including songwriters and artists,

ついに設定年齢と同じ14周年を迎えました。

tsuini settei nenrei to onaji jūyonshūnen o mukaemashita.

and at last have welcomed the anniversary corresponding to their official age of 14 years.
