果てしなく続く　青空を見上げていた

hateshinaku tsuzuku aozora o miagete ita

I was gazing at the blue sky stretching endlessly above.

何も映すことないとても虚ろな色

nani mo utsusu koto nai totemo utsuro na iro

It's a very empty colour never displaying anything at all.

それなのに何故だか輝いて見えるのは

sorenanoni nazedaka kagayaite mieru no wa

In spite of this, for some reason what appeared to shine

きっと君がそばで笑ってくれるから

kitto kimi ga soba de waratte kureru kara

was surely that you were beside me, smiling at me.

いつまでもずっとひとつでいられる

itsumademo zutto hitotsu de irareru

And so my small but important wish

小さい大事な願いを

chiisai daiji na negai o

that we could always stay together as one

風に託して届けに行こう

kaze ni takushite todoke ni ikō

let us let into the wind and go to deliver it.

気高く、白く輝いて　雲を駆け抜けるよ

kedakaku, shiroku kagayaite kumo o kakenukeru yo

We'll race through the lofty clouds shining white

悲しい痛みのいらなくなるところまで

kanashii itami no iranaku naru tokoro made

until we're free of this painful sorrow.

そしていつかこの長い長い時を越えて

soshite itsuka kono nagai nagai toki o koete

And thus let us someday get through this long, long period

誰も知らない二人の場所を見つけよう

dare mo shiranai futari no basho o mitsukeyō

and find a place for us that no one else knows.

白くて柔らかい翼をはためかせよう

shirokute yawarakai tsubasa o hatamekaseyō

Let us flutter our soft, white wings.

信じればどこへでも飛んでいけるんだから

shinjireba doko e demo tonde ikeru n da kara

For if we believe, we can fly anywhere.

怖がることなんてなんにもないよ

kowagaru koto nante nanni mo nai yo

There's nothing at all to fear.

小さな大事な願いは

chiisana daiji na negai wa

My small but important wish

ぼくが必ず叶えてあげる

boku ga kanarazu kanaete ageru

I'll definitely grant to you.

孤独と脆さと優しさで編み上げられてる

kodoku to morosa to yasashisa de amiagerarete'ru

Knit together with loneliness, fragility and kindness,

折れそうな身体からだをずっと抱きしめていた

oresō na karada o zutto dakishimete ita

your fragile body I was holding tight all this time.

やがて氷のように冷たいその右手は

yagate kōri no yō ni tsumetai sono migite wa

In time, your right hand, cold as ice,

ぼくらの白い鳥を解き放してゆく

bokura no shiroi tori o tokihanashite yuku

will set free our white bird.

From the bottom of my heart, I continue to wish

心の底から思いつづけているんだ
