I don’t like getting wet

このハコが出れません

kono hako ga deremasen

so this box can’t go out.

気がつくと雨上がり

Ki ga tsuku to ameagari

When I notice, the rain’s stopped.

この街に陽が昇る

Kono machi ni hi ga noboru

The sun’s rising over this town.

太陽が眩しくて

Taiyō ga mabushikute

The sun is too bright,

このハコが出れません

kono hako ga deremasen

so this box can’t go out.

周りの声が聞こえないように

Mawari no koe ga kikoenai yō ni

So that I wouldn’t hear the voices around me,

自分をギュッと抱いて目を閉じた

jibun o gyutto daite me o tojita

I hugged myself tightly and shut my eyes.

遠くの事で笑って見せて

Tōku no koto de waratte misete

Showing a smile at distant things,

大きな夢から逃げ隠れ

ōkina yume kara nige-kakure

I run away and hide from big dreams.

多くの人に合わせて生きてきました

ōku no hito ni awasete ikite kimashita

I’ve been living alongside many people.

生きています

Ikite imasu

I’m alive.

遠くの街で離れた場所で

Tōku no machi de hanareta basho de

In a distant town, a place far away,

どうしてまだ変われないのか

dōshite mada kawarenai no ka

why can’t I change yet?

もうハコの中から手を伸ばす

Mō hako no naka kara te o nobasu

I can’t even feel stretching my hand

ちょっとの気持ちもなくなった

chotto no kimochi mo naku natta

out from the box anymore.

遠ざかる人の声

Tōzakaru hito no koe

Voices of people moving off.

この街に夜が来る

Kono machi ni yoru ga kuru

Evening comes to this town.

体ごと飲み込まれ

Karada goto nomikomare

I’m swallowed, body and all,

このハコが出れません

and this box can’t go out.
