夜空に映す思い出と

yozora ni utsusu omoide to

I hid my loneliness

寂しさを隠して

sabishisa o kakushite

and the memories I picture in the night sky,

数え切れない星屑に

kazoekirenai hoshikuzu ni

and dropped my gaze

視線を落とした

shisen o otoshita

to the innumerate stardust.

眩しすぎた笑顔だけ

mabushisugita egao dake

Just your dazzlingly bright smile

まぶたに焼き付いて

mabuta ni yakitsuite

burned itself into my eyelids

過ぎて行く現実を

sugite yuku genjitsu o

as I pretended not to see

僕は見ないふりで

boku wa minai furi de

the unfolding truth.

あの日、あの時、君のそばで

ano hi, ano toki, kimi no soba de

That day, that moment, next to you,

どんな言葉、言えただろう？

donna kotoba, ieta darō?

what words could I have said?

君は当たり前のように

kimi wa atarimae no yō ni

Like it was nothing out of the ordinary,

僕にこう言った

boku ni kō itta

you said this to me:

「それもまた運命」　なんて笑って

"sore mo mata unmei" nante waratte

"That's fate, again," you said with a smile

星屑を手いっぱいに掬って

hoshikuzu o teippai ni sukutte

and filled your hand with a scoop of stardust

指の隙間から溢れ落ちてく

yubi no sukima kara koboreochite'ku

that slips between your fingers

時間を眺めては

jikan o nagamete wa

when gazing at time.

強がって、精一杯に笑って

tsuyogatte, seiippai ni waratte

You put on a brave front and make your best smile

僕はまた、なにも言えず黙って

boku wa mata, nani mo iezu damatte

as I, silently again, can say nothing.

星屑のように零れ落ちてく

hoshikuzu no yō ni koboreochite'ku

Slipping down like stardust

君の涙が頬をつたった

kimi no namida ga hoho o tsutatta

your tears stain your cheeks.

２人の時間が重なって

futari no jikan ga kasanatte

When we spent time together

同じ夜空を見た時

onaji yozora o mita toki

looking at the same night sky,

流れ星見つけはしゃぐ君に

nagareboshi mitsuke hashagu kimi ni

I was a bit relieved

少し安心した

sukoshi anshin shita

at you having fun looking for shooting stars.

少しふざけ、君を見て

sukoshi fuzake, kimi o mite

As a bit of a joke, I looked at you

囁ささやくように言った

sasayaku yō ni itta

and said, as if whispering,

私もいつか、あの夜空の

watashi mo itsuka, ano yozora no

"Sometime I'm going to become

お星様になるの

ohoshisama ni naru no

another star in the night sky."

君は少し驚いた後

kimi wa sukoshi odoroita ato

After acting a bit surprised,

寂しそうに夜空見て

sabishisō ni yozora mite

you wistfully looked at the night sky,

息を整え、こっち見て

iki o totonoe, kotchi mite

took a breath, looked my way

優しく微笑んだ

yasashiku hohoenda

and smiled kindly.

ごめんね、いつもわがままばかりで

gomen ne, itsumo wagamama bakari de

I'm sorry for always being selfish,

君の光になってあげたくて

kimi no hikari ni natte agetakute

I want to be your light.

だから、少しだけ強がって

dakara, sukoshi dake tsuyogatte

That's why I put on a brave act

笑って見せた

waratte miseta

and showed you a smile.

だけど、本当は暗くて怖くて

dakedo, hontō wa kurakute kowakute

But, truth is, it's dark, I'm scared,

君という光が恋しくて

kimi to iu hikari ga koishikute

I miss the light that's you,

tomerarenai n da, kono namida mo

and they won't stop, these tears

君への思いも、溢れ出すんだ。

kimi e no omoi mo, afuredasu n da.

and my feelings for you, they burst out.

The stardust is sparkling again tonight

星空を見上げる

hoshizora o miageru

I'll look up at the night sky.

なんども、なんども繰り返した

nandomo, nandomo kurikaeshita

The many, many sadnesses that've happened

消えない悲しみなら、もう忘れて

kienai kanashimi nara, mō wasurete

and won't go away, I've already forgotten.

さよならの準備、出来るかな？

sayonara no junbi, dekiru ka na?

Can I prepare to say goodbye?

やっぱり寂しいな

yappari sabishii na

I still feel lonely.

君と言う光が必要なんだ

kimi to iu hikari ga hitsuyō na n da

I need the light that's you.

本当は、ずっと一緒に居たいの

hontō wa, zutto issho ni itai no

Truth is, I want to stay with you.

大丈夫、君の眩しい笑顔

daijōbu, kimi no mabushii egao

I'll be all right, your dazzling smile

僕の心で輝き続ける

boku no kokoro de kagayakitsuzukeru

will continue to shine in my heart.
