ひらひら　舞ってた

hirahira matte'ta

I run around chasing bird feathers

鳥の羽根　追いかけて走ってく

tori no hane oikakete hashitte'ku

flittering, fluttering down.

まだ見ぬ　風景を

mada minu fūkei o

Some day, I want to check out

この目で　いつか　確かめてみたい

kono me de itsuka tashikamete mitai

scenery I've yet to see with my own eyes.

古いスチールカメラ　握りしめ

furui suchīru kamera nigirishime

I grip my old still camera

偶然も必然も　切り取りたくて

gūzen mo hitsuzen mo kiritoritakute

wanting to capture both serendipitous and must-see snapshots.

青い海と空には　白い雲がたなびいて

aoi umi to sora ni wa shiroi kumo ga tanabiite

White clouds drift along the blue sea and sky

まるで時間を止めた　写真のように

marude jikan o tometa shashin no yō ni

just like in a photograph where time stands still.

見てきた　記憶が

mite kita kioku ga

Memories of what I've seen

ふとした瞬間　つながる時に

futoshita shunkan tsunagaru toki ni

at unexpected moments lead to times when

ありえぬ　感情が

arienu kanjō ga

inconceivable emotions

この胸　突き上げるように　あふれて

kono mune tsukiageru yō ni afurete

fill my heart to overflowing.

古いフィルムに写る　フレアのように

furui firumu ni utsuru furea no yō ni

Like a flare photographed on old film

偶然も必然に　変えていきたくて

gūzen mo hitsuzen ni kaete ikitakute

I'd like the serendipitous to go on changing into must-see.

夕日が沈む間際　全ての色が見えた

yūhi ga shizumu magiwa subete no iro ga mieta

The moment the evening sun was about to set, I could see every colour

まるで世界を写す　写真のように

marude sekai o utsusu shashin no yō ni

just like a photograph that pictures the world.
