10月の　終わりの夜を　待ちわびて

Jūgatsu no owari no yoru o machiwabite

Waiting impatiently for the evening of the last night of October

うきうきと　町中みんな　浮かれてる

ukiuki to machijū minna ukarete'ru

everyone all over town is happily excited.

仮装して　かぼちゃのランプ　飾ったら

Kasō shite kabocha no ranpu kazattara

When they put on costumes and decorate their pumpkin lamps,

はじめましょ！　少しホラーな　お祭りを

Hajimemasho! Sukoshi horā na omatsuri o

"Let's begin," they say. "the horror (a bit) festival!"

街中が　黒とオレンジ　ぶら下げて

Machijū ga kuro to orenji burasagete

The whole town is swinging black and orange

口ずさむ　お決まりのあの　かけ声を

Kuchizusamu okimari no ano kakegoe o

and hums that well-known refrain.

トリックと　トリートどっち？　えらびましょ♪

Torikku to torīto dotchi? Erabimasho

Trick or treat, which shall it be? You choose.

本物の　お化けもきっと　紛れてる･･･？

Honmono no obake mo kitto magirete'ru …?

Real ghosts are surely mixed among them …?

怖いなら　美味しいお菓子　くださいな♪

Kowai nara oishii okashi kudasai na

If you're scared, please give us some tasty sweets.

それよりも　いたずら希望？　喜んで♪

Sore yori mo itazura kibō? Yorokonde

Or do you rather wish for a prank? With pleasure!

ゴーストに　ジャック・オ・ランタン　お出ましよ！

Gōsuto ni jakku-o-rantan odemashi yo!

Not only ghosts but Jack-o'-lanterns make an appearance!

戦利品　袋に詰めて　次の家

Senrihin fukuro ni tsumete tsugi no ie

We fill our sacks with booty and on to the next house.

子供たち　はしゃぎ疲れて　眠る頃

Kodomo-tachi hashagi tsukarete nemuru koro

It's the time when children, tired of their antics, go to sleep.

探しましょ！　ハロウィン夜の　伝説を

Sagashimasho! Harowin yoru no densetsu o

Let's go on a search, for the legend of All Hallows' Evening.

誰も居ぬ　かぼちゃ畑に　忍び込み

Daremo inu kabocha hatake ni shinobikomi

We sneak into the pumpkin patch where there's no one around

待ち伏せて　かぼちゃ大王　見るのです！

Machibusete kabocha daiō miru no desu!

and we'll wait in ambush to see the pumpkin king!

ドラキュラと　魔女なら、どっち？　怖いかな？♪

Dorakyura to majo nara, dotchi? Kowai ka na?

Which is it, Dracula or a witch? I bet it's scary?

本物の　お化けもきっと　紛れてる･･･？

Honmono no obake mo kitto magirete'ru …?

Are real ghosts surely among us …?

怖くても　二人で行けば　大丈夫･･･！

Kowakute mo futari de ikeba daijōbu …!

Even if we're afraid, it'll be all right if we go together …!

物音に　思わず叫ぶ　深夜2時

Monooto ni omowazu sakebu shin'ya niji

I startle a shout at a sound at 2 o'clock deep in the night.

Torikku o kudasai nante itte mita

I tried saying, "Trick please."

目の前の　お化けはすっと･･･消えちゃった！

Me no mae no obake wa sutto … Kiechatta!

The ghost in front of me … vanished in thin air!
