遥か遠き海神わだつみへ　還りゆく

haruka tōki wadatsumi e kaeri yuku

and returns back to the far-off ocean

泡沫うたがたの身は　風に散り

utagata no mi wa kaze ni chiri

An ephemeral body scatters in the wind

いつか土へと　還りゆく

itsuka tsuchi e to kaeri yuku

and someday returns back to the earth

わたしはあなたに

watashi wa anata ni

I, to you,

あなたはわたしに

anata wa watashi ni

you, to me,

還りゆく

kaeri yuku
