夜を歩く夢を見た

yoru o aruku yume o mita

I had a dream of walking through the night

私は一人　歌を歌いながら

watashi wa hitori uta o utainagara

where I was alone, singing a song

星は薄い紫

hoshi wa usui murasaki

The stars were a pale purple

私の好きな　優しい色だった

watashi no suki na yasashii iro datta

It was a gentle colour, my favourite

歩き始めたばかりで

arukihajimeta bakari de

I only just started walking

生きる理由も目的も

ikiru riyū mo mokuteki mo

and didn't yet know

まだわからないけど

mada wakaranai kedo

a reason or purpose for my life

誰かが私を　必要としてくれた

dareka ga watashi o hitsuyō to shite kureta

But someone had need of me

音を結んで　歌を編んでいく

oto o musunde uta o ande yuku

As it stitches sounds to knit into a song

私の声は　人と人を繋つなぐらしい

watashi no koe wa hito to hito o tsunagu rashii

it seems my voice connects one person to another

人の温かさに触れる瞬間ときがある

hito no atatakasa ni fureru toki ga aru

There are moments when you feel another's warmth

人はそれを縁ゆかりと呼ぶのでしょう

hito wa sore o yukari to yobu no deshō

People surely call that "connection".

夜を泳ぐ夢を見た

yoru o oyogu yume o mita

I had a dream of swimming through the night

私は　ふわり　花を追いかけながら

watashi wa fuwari hana o oikakenagara

where I was chasing a floating flower

星は明るい紫

hoshi wa akarui murasaki

The stars were a bright purple

誰かの好きな　私の色だった

dareka no suki na watashi no iro datta

It was my colour that's someone's favourite

歩き始めて

arukihajimete

As I started to walk

少し自信もついてきたから

sukoshi jishin mo tsuite kita kara

I began to pick up a little courage

誰かが私を　呼んでいる限り

dareka ga watashi o yonde iru kagiri

So as long someone is calling me

側そばにいるよ

soba ni iru yo

I'll be at their side

巻いた言の葉　東へ浮かべ

maita kotonoha higashi e ukabe

I coil words together, set them afloat toward the east

私の声で　心へ流していく

watashi no koe de kokoro e nagashite yuku

and with my voice let them flow into your heart

涙の冷たさに触れる瞬間ときがある

namida no tsumetasa ni fureru toki ga aru

There are moments when you feel the chill of tears

人はそのとき　灯あかりを求めるのでしょう

hito wa sono toki akari o motomeru no deshō

At those times people surely seek the light

There are moments where you forgive people's weakness

嗚呼　今日も泣くほど月が綺麗ですね

ā kyō mo naku hodo tsuki ga kirei desu ne

Ah the moon is so beautiful again today it makes you cry

As I stitch sounds to knit into a song

私の声で　光を紡いでみたい

watashi no koe de hikari o tsumuide mitai

I want my voice to create a light

月を束ねて　引いて　解ほどいて

tsuki o tabanete hiite hodoite

Tying the moon into a bundle, pulling it, and untying it

人は縁ゆかりを愛し続けるのでしょう

hito wa yukari o aishitsuzukeru no deshō

people surely continue to love "connection"
