始まりの草原 ♥ Hajimari no Sōgen ♥ The Meadow Where It Starts

ただ見えていた　

tada miete ita

All I could see

まだ遠い夢　

mada tōi yume

was a dream still too far away

僕は届かないように

boku wa todokanai yō ni

for me to reach.

イタズラな太陽が

itazura na taiyō ga

The mischievous sun

瞬くように過ぎていた

matataku yō ni sugite ita

was passing by like it was blinking.

踏み出してみた　

fumidashite mita

I took a step

柔らかい土　

yawarakai tsuchi

on the soft ground

はじまりを告げるように

hajimari o tsugeru yō ni

as if to tell of a new start.

さざなみが撫でていた　

sazanami ga nadete ita

Ripples stroked

草原と僕の頬を

sōgen to boku no hoho o

the meadow and my cheek.

力が入らなくても　

chikarai hairanakute mo

Though you don't have the strength,

転んで手を擦りむいても

koronde te o surimuite mo

though you tumble and graze your hands,

それに負けないくらいの　

sore ni makenai kurai no

you're waiting here,

キミがココで待ってるよ

kimi ga koko de matte'ru yo

you who wouldn't give up at that.

負けそうで逃げそうな　

makesō de nigesō na

Surely I'm here too

自分もきっといるけど

jibun mo kitto iru kedo

one who's likely to lose or run away,

心まで裂けそうな　

kokoro made sakesō na

bearing scars

傷跡も残したけど

kizuato mo nokoshita kedo

that look like I'm torn down to my heart.

顔を上げて見えた　

kao o agete mieta

But I lifted my head and could see

咲いた笑顔の花

saita egao no hana

the flower of a blossoming smile.

追いかけてみた　

oikakete mita

When the dandelion seed

たんぽぽの種　

tanpopo no tane

I tried to chase

空に弾け飛んだら

sora ni hajiketondara

flew up into the sky,

イタズラな妖精が

itazura na yōsei ga

a playful fairy

優しく笑いかけてた

yasashiku waraikakete'ta

smiled gently at me.

駆け出してみた　

kakedashite mita

I tried making a dash for it.

「馬鹿みたいだね。」　

"baka mitai da ne."

"You look silly!"

笑うように叫んだ

warau yō ni sakenda

you shouted like you were laughing.

さざなみの草原と

sazanami no sōgen to

It's a game of chasing between my legs

この足の追いかけっこ

kono ashi no oikakekko

and the rippling meadow.

息が苦しくなっても　

iki ga kurushiku natte mo

Though it gets hard to breathe,

先に進めなくなっても　

saki ni susumenaku natte mo

though I can't move ahead,

寝転んで空見上げて　

nekoronde sora miagete

I lie down and look up at the sky;

ボクはココで生きてるよ

boku wa koko de ikite'ru yo

I'm alive in this place.

負けそうで逃げそうな　

makesō de nigesō na

I was shedding tears

涙も流してたけど

namida mo nagashite'ta kedo

like I'm about to lose and run away,

足元が竦すくむような　

ashimoto ga sukumu yō na

I have memories of continually

記憶もずっとあるけど

kioku mo zutto aru kedo

being unable to move my feet,

一歩を踏み出した　

ippo o fumidashita

but I took the first step.

はじまりはここから

hajimari wa koko kara

It begins right here and now.

When I wiped the tears

涙を拭ったらほら

namida o nuguttara hora

of losing and running away, see,

ダイキライだったボクも　

daikirai datta boku mo

even the dislikable me

きっと好きになれるよ

kitto suki ni nareru yo

can surely become lovable.

苦しくて消えそうな　

kurushikute kiesō na

I have experiences of continued

思いもずっとあるけど

omoi mo zutto aru kedo

pain like I'm about to disappear,

まだ遠い夢の果て　

mada tōi yume no hate

and I won't any time soon

すぐには届かないけど

sugu ni wa todokanai kedo

fulfil my dream that's still far away,

顔を上げてみれば　

kao o agete mireba

but if I try lifting my head

咲いた笑顔の花

saita egao no hana

there's a flower of a blossoming smile.
