Racing through the hot sunshine,

負けそうないくらい元気な声

makesō nai kurai genki na koe

a cheerful voice sounds invincible.

あどけない足取りにつまずいて

adokenai ashidori ni tsumazuite

You tripped in your childish gait

傷だらけの膝を抱えていた

kizu darake no hiza o kakaete ita

and held onto your battered knees.

nandomo yonda namae ni
